Light and eco-friendly: this is Oscar-winning packaging

 The traditional award-giving ceremony of the Packaging Oscars, promoted by the Italian Packaging Institute, has just come to a close. The ceremony is a significant moment in IPACK-IMA and celebrates creativity, industrial skill and ability to innovate. Reducing weight, volumes and increase eco-sustainability in packaging: these are the main criteria guiding the commission of judges headed by professor Maurizio Boccacci Mariani, La Sapienza University Rome and including representatives from Milan universities Bocconi and Politecnico as well as the Monitoring Laboratory and consumer associations. A prestigious event, as highlighted by Ipack-Ima Spa CEO Guido Corbella who also underlined the great opportunities for further growth offered by the 2015 edition of IPACK-IMA, held in May instead of March at the height of the international EXPO. Shelly Sandall, strategic marketing and corporate partners manager, EXPO 2015 took the podium and explained the importance of packaging and its innovation in connection to the Expo’s leading theme "Feed the planet, energy for life".

kicked off the prize-giving ceremony during which awards were given to different categories of Oscar-winning packaging. Here is the list of winners:
