IPACK-IMA goes to space with astronaut Nespoli



Striking pictures from space, calling to mind the most advanced technology, and packaging solutions designed for space missions are under the spotlight at this morning’s opening conference, scheduled at 10.30 am (Martini Room). This year the traditional inaugural meeting features an attractive format which goes beyond the mere presentation of numbers and scenarios.


Astronaut Paolo Nespoli, the first Italian to complete a long-term mission in space with 159 days spent aboard the International Space Station will take part in the conference as ambassador of innovation and future-oriented solutions. His account of his experience in space, which includes a mission aboard the space shuttle, will focus on key topics under discussion at IPACK-IMA: food preservation and safety technology, transportation of liquids and beverages, labeling and traceability.

IPACK-IMA 2012 president Mr. Paolo Barilla and Ipack-Ima Spa CEO Guido Corbella will present some of the exhibition’s remarkable features and figures.

In addition, prof. Giampaolo Vitali will give an account of todays’ and tomorrow’s market scenarios monitored by the Ipack-Ima Observatory.

The meeting will be moderated by journalist Cristina Lazzati, vice-director of Retail Business area, Media Gruppo 24 Ore. Other outstanding guests include Fiera Milano Spa CEO Enrico Pazzali and EXPO 2015 Spa External Relations Manager Roberto Arditti.
